Ola removable battery patent leak: All the electric scooters launched by Ola Electric in India are available with great features and attractive price range. All these scooters come with fixed battery packs. Recently, a patent for a removable battery by Ola has been leaked.

Ola has registered a patent for a removable battery pack. This suggests we might see a new electric vehicle from Ola soon.

Ola’s competitor in this segment is Hero’s Vida V1 electric scooter which comes with a removable battery. To compete with this, Ola is going to launch an electric vehicle with a removable battery.

Disadvantage of Fixed Battery

There are several problems with any fixed battery electric scooter.

• Locating a plug point to charge the electric scooter with a portable charger.
• Ola doesn’t have enough Hypercharger stations for instant charging yet.
• In many societies, there is no permission to install charging points and there is no charging facility on the ground either.
• The high number of Ola’s electric scooters also makes it difficult to find an empty charging station.

Advantage of Removal Battery

Swappable or removable batteries tend to have fewer problems than fixed batteries.

• The swappable battery can be carried and charged anywhere, be it home or office.
• If there is no charging point on the home ground, then the swappable battery can be removed from the EV and taken anywhere for charging.
• This will eliminate problems like searching for and waiting at charging stations.
